The Missouri S&T VE Team offers amateur radio licensing exams for free to students and community members, through the Laurel VEC.

Exams are offered for all classes of licenses. Exam sessions are open to S&T Students, as well as the general public. Pre-registration is required.

If you experience difficulties with the sign-up process, please contact the exam coordinator at w0eee@mst.edu. Proctors will remain available until all exams are finished; there is NO time limit. If you are unable to attend any of the exam sessions, please contact the exam coordinator at w0eee@mst.edu and we may be able to offer additional sessions.

What to Bring

All applicants are required to bring the following:

  • Photo ID
  • Copy of your existing FCC license & any valid CSCEs
  • Your FCC-issued FRN (FCC Registration Number) **

Fees

There is no cost for exams offered by the Missouri S&T VE Team. However, the FCC charges a $35 application fee. This fee applies only after you successfully pass an exam. Subsequent license upgrades are not subject to this fee.
